We specialize in custom fitted earplugs.
We Are All Ears specializes in custom fitted earplugs. We offer 2 types of custom earplugs, Solid and Filtered. Research suggest non-filtered earplug offer up to 29.8 decibels of noise reduction giving you maximum hearing protection with custom earplugs, while a filtered pair offers up to 24 decibels of noise reduction, which is equal to or more than most earmuffs and generic earplugs. Research also shows filtered earplugs allow you to hear 80 decibels of surrounding sound, which is close to a loud voice.. Filters also allow airflow through the earplug which helps with balance and reduces a pressurized feeling, which is very common with earplugs that create a complete seal.
Both types are custom fit to each client and are made with medical grade silicone and protected with a medical grade silicone sealer. Each set comes with a carrying case and lanyard. You will have a choice of color(s). We use the highest grade materials offered on the market.

Insta-Mold Silicone
Insta-Mold's silicone is a medical grade silicone which is hypo-allergenic and antibacterial. Insta-Mold’s continuing mission is in research and development of the newest silicone technologies, the development of new, state of the art products and maximum performance.
Hocks Noise Braker Filter®
The Hocks Noise Braker Filter®, inserted into hearing protection, allows a limited amount of air and sound to still enter the ear.
The filter is designed to reduce the intensity of sound waves, as the sound waves get stronger the wearer can carry on a normal conversation. The normal voice can be heard with a reduction of volume, while the background noise is filtered out to a greater extent. Some popular hearing protection seals off the ear with an insulating material, such as foam or silicone, blocking sound and air from entering the ear but still not as affective at protecting hearing damage.
In addition to the frustration of having to shout to carry on a conversation, people are frequently unable to hear warning sounds or alarms.
Having the ear completely sealed off can leave the wearer with a stuffy, plugged up feeling.
FAQs
Why Custom earplugs over generic earplugs or earmuffs?
Our ears are as unique to us as our fingerprints and generic products just don’t work for everyone. As with any product, quality is paramount. All of our custom earplugs are made to fit perfectly and provide the best noise reduction and a comfortable fit. Custom earplugs are long lasting with an average life-span of over 5 years, making them extremely cost effective. Bulky earmuffs can get hot and get in the way of your activity. Custom earplugs have an extremely small footprint and are ideal for hot weather .
What are my options for custom earplugs?
Two most popular types of earplugs are Insta-Mold Solid Silicone and Insta-Mold Filtered Silicone Earplugs. Solid earplugs give the maximum amount of hearing protection with a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 29.8 decibels. Filtered earplugs are essentially solid earplugs that have an acoustic filter, allowing the user to hear 80 decibels of surrounding sound. You can choose to have a string (lanyard) attached but is removable or you can have a flush fit that is ideal for underneath helmets, swimming/surfing. There is a variety of color choices and you can choose to mix two colors together to get a marble swirl look, color choices may vary at time of fitting.
What if I am allergic?
All We Are All Ears custom earplugs are made with medical grade silicone and are hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Each set is coated with a sealer that ensures proper fit and are easy to clean.
What is a filtered earplug?
Filtered earplugs are custom made earplugs that use an acoustic filter (Hocks Noise Braker®) which allows the user to hear 80 decibels of sound while still getting an average of 23-25 decibel noise reduction rating. Filtered earplugs also allow airflow to pass through the ear canal which eliminates the occlusion or “plugged up” feeling. The filters are passive meaning they are always active and DO NOT require batteries.
What if earplugs or In-Ear headphones don’t fit and fall out of my ear?
The benefit of custom fit earplugs and monitors is a perfect fit for your ear. They will be more comfortable and far less likely to fall out.
Will We Are All Ears come to my event and make earplugs?
The short answer is yes. As with any business, scheduling is the key. Please contact us if you would like We Are All Ears to come to your event.
How long will my custom earplugs last?
We Are All Ears custom earplugs are extremely durable and can last up to 5 years. Although hearing professionals recommend a new set every 3-5 years this may vary based on each individual's usage and anatomical ear change incurred thru growth. (Our ears continue to grow and change thru out our lifetime.) As time passes, the material may break down due to handling while contaminants are present on your hands. If you feel your earplugs are loose or the sound is disturbing you contact us.
How do I clean my custom earplugs?
Simple soap and water, baby wipes and alcohol wipes or a damp cloth all work great. Do Not use any abrasive cleaners.
Can you make custom earplugs for children?
Yes we can, we try to keep custom earplugs for ages 6 and up, we do make exceptions and have made earplugs for children as young as 4 years old. The main issue with children is the duration of the earplug, children grow quickly and may outgrow their earplugs within 12-18 months.
The Shiny sealer is peeling off my earplugs, do I need a new set?
The answer will vary, a small peel or spot can be easily fixed by We Are All Ears. If your earplugs are older than 5 years we recommend investing in a new set. It's a case by case scenario, contact us for direction.
